Plant oil presses

Application

The plant oil presses are used to extract oil from oleaginous plant seed.
Thereby the volume of the seed is reduced to such an extent that the oil is expelled. To this purpose a tapered extruder screw, mounted on a shaft which rotates within a strainer cage is utilised.
Depending on the intended use of the oil, our presses can be operated with either the cold or the hot press technique.

Description

Our plant oil presses are robust and low-maintenance machines with a very high costperformance ratio.

The Seed that is to be processed needs to be pre-cleansed and have the correct moisture content. It is transported to the press via an optional preheating and metering device.
Due to the narrowing of the tapered extruder screw segments, the seed is driven through the press. The oil flows through three strainer cages that have differing strainer gaps into a foodstuff–safe stainless steel funnel. The press cake is transported out of the press via a freely adjustable press gap. This adjustable press gap makes it possible to process many different types of seed. Whereby the press cake, that is in chip form falls out of the bottom of the machine.

The presses are driven by a geared electric motor. When fully filled they can be operated by asimple electrical junction box.
A better but more complex possibility to operate the press is to use a SPC control unit with a frequency converter. With which the entire oil extraction process, from feed to filtration may be monitored and controlled. The metering is adjusted in such a way that the motor of the press always runs with 100% of the nominal current. This enables the presses to automatically react to variations of the seed.
